BIANCO DEI COLLI MACERATESI

Wines and vines

GEOGRAPHIC AND HISTORICAL REFERENCES

Guido Piovene, in his still known" Travel in Italy " declares that the most authentic Marches are those between the Jesino and Fermano zones: a zone comprising all the beautiful Maceratesi hills that have given the name to this wine.
In this zone the vineyards are remarkablly composite; in fact many wines exist: some of these, have been judged with laudatory terms from some experts.
There is someone who, for instance, refers to the Grechetto di Montefano talking about it like " an unthinkable Picolit of the Marches ".
"The Colli Maceratesi" was not born from a fracture with
the past; on the contrary, it can be said that this wine has lived previous lives and it is  the result of a long and uninterrupted process of transformation and trasmigration.
The modification to disciplining laws with the percentage increase of the Maceratino goes to this direction. It is less known than " more famous relatives", it can give great results as it has not anything to envy to these about the

COUPLING WITH FOODS

The coupling proposal is about the structure, the evolutionary state of the wine and the tipology of the same one.
It can be considered a wine for the whole meal, in the sense that, being either white or red, as well as sparkling and new, the range of the couplings is complete.
It must not be considered an inferior wine regarding its "prototypes": its lower content confers freshness, harmony, savoury.

VINES

For the white ones there must be a minimum of 50% of Verdicchio. For the red ones the Sangiovese and Montepulciano vines, alone or jointly, at least 60%. All the authorized grapes and/or reccomended in the province of Ancona and Macerata can concur for the remaining percentages.
